Know what you want from a game
- Risk: high-volatility slots and long-odds bets swing hard; even-money bets and low-volatility slots are steadier.
- Pace and time: slots and speed tables are quick; live tables are slower and social.
- Decisions: blackjack, video poker and poker reward learning; slots, roulette and baccarat are luck only.
RTP and house edge
RTP (return to player) is the share of all bets a game pays back over the long run; the house edge is the rest. A slot with 96% RTP has a 4% edge. Our guide to RTP at new casinos explains where to find it.
